The History of Idaho Broadcasting Foundation

Invites you to our next no-host

Luncheon Meeting

Friday August 15, 2014 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at Smoky Mountain Pizza

The restaurant is located at the corner of Parkcenter Blvd. & Mallard in Boise.

The program will feature a special

KSPD Reunion!

and will star Foundation Members Dr. Gary Daniel and David Hagen

(aka David O’Shay on KSPD and “Paul King” on KFXD and KBOI-FM)

along with big-market air-personality Rick Oldenburg. Rounding out the crew will be Janie Farlow of KTVB Channel 7 fame and probably best known as the talented spokesperson for Parma Furniture, and Rich Smith who both worked in sales at KSPD. We’ll hear the story of how the 79’ers took on the giant KFXD-AM from 1970-1972 and made some very impressive gains for a daytime station. There will be a slide show with vintage photos, the actual taped sign-on of KSPD from August of 1970, as well as various air-checks and those great TM jingles! It’s Boise’s version of “That 70’s Show” live and in person…so don’t miss it!
