11:30am-1:30pm at

Smoky Mountain Pizzeria Grill

415 East Parkcenter Blvd. Boise, Idaho 83706 (208) 429-0011

We’ll watch excerpts from

Vintage 8mm & 16mm Films

From Larry Smith and Don Cederstrom of

KBOI-TV & KLIX-TV

and KIDO-AM Radio!

Actual 8mm “Home Movie” Film boxes from 1957 and 1965 or 1966!

Art Gregory hosts this unusual program that “previews” excerpts from four “lost”

Don Cederstrom 8mm films, that were recently donated to the Foundation by

Jenny Sternling, Vera Cederstrom’s daughter! Plus, we’ll view a new DVD of the

original 16mm film of KBOI-TV’s Deer Point transmitter being built in the

Fall of 1953, with commentary being narrated in 2009 by Jimmy Johntz.

All of these films were recently sent to Legacy Box and were professionally

“transferred” to digital files with DVDs made from the actual original films!

We’ll Watch…

The 1953 construction of the first KBOI-TV Deer Point Tower!

The 1957 film of KLIX-TV’s antenna being mounted to the tower

1965 Films of KIDO’s “Live 5” DJs doing a local teen “Sock Hop”

KIDO’s “Ace Updraft” Helicopter Float in the Fairyland Parade!

Jack Thompson Climbing the 400’ KIDO Tower to change a bulb

And several other misc. KIDO Promotions & Family-Fun Events!

Actual metal film case holding the 16mm KBOI-TV Transmitter film

found by Dexter McBride, and donated by Member Larry Smith!

We’ll also have the original films and cases for you to inspect and…
