Impact Radio Group’s

605’ Tower!

New Impact Tower is 605 feet tall and was erected in December of 2018

Hosted by Ian Perry, Regional Director of Engineering for Impact Radio Group

We’ll see photos and video of the building of this new 605 foot tower which is located

near Emmett, West of Firebird Raceway. The new tower broadcasts the 100,000 watt

signal of KWYD at 101.1 FM, which is licensed to Parma, and KLXI at 99.5 FM, the

non-commercial station licensed to Fruitland. Both stations have strong signals most

everywhere in the valley, including downtown Boise and especially Canyon County!

Our speaker (Ian Perry) has been involved in radio since childhood, getting his

Amateur Radio License at 13 years of age and landing his first job in broadcast radio

at age 17. He spent the first five years of his career as an on-air personality at several

different stations in Northern Nevada before joining the US Navy in 2001. After serving

for five years on submarines he returned to his passion of Broadcasting in 2007, this

time as an Chief Engineer for The Pilgrim Radio Network, a Christian non-commercial

network, and then was Chief Engineer for Citadel Broadcasting in Reno. Ian joined

Impact Radio Group in December of 2013 and is now the Regional Director of

Engineering for all of their Boise stations, and for all their Twin Falls stations!

The tower site was built by Impact’s engineering team which includes

Ian, Josh Ely and Jared Ricker. They also employed many contractors

such as Sabre Tower, who constructed the new 605 foot steel structure!
