This 90-minute program will Celebrate the Sign-on of Channel 7

which took place 60 years ago at 2:00 pm on Sunday July 12, 1953

 

KIDO-TV was Boise's First Television Station

changing call letters 6 years later to KTVB on February 1, 1959

 

We'll also cover KFXD-TV (Channel 6) - Idaho's first TV-signal, which was "on and off the air" from June 18th thru August 12, 1953.

 

Our Special Program will include a live telephone hook-up with Jack Link in Seattle, KIDO-TV's first Program Director who was there the day Channel 7 signed on the air! We'll show vintage photos of KIDO-TV & KTVB, and Jack will describe the photos followed by an open discussion of Channel 7's 60-year -history!
