1230 kHz
The AM frequency of 1230 kilohertz is defined by the FCC as a Regional Channel Class C frequency, otherwise know as a local channel.
In Idaho there are 3 stations on 1230. Across the US, however, there are over 160 stations assigned to this frequency, several in Canada, Mexico and other North American areas.
No protection (by use of directional antennas) is provided on 1230 , and the coverage of these stations if often limited at night due to interfering signals from other stations many miles distant.
