Progress notes from the Webmaster (aka Rockwell) ....  Most recent are first.

Comments are welcome.  You can contact me here.

September 30, 2009 --  I do finally have some time to devote to catching up the site.  Your patience has been appreciated.  I am working on building up the data base so I can update the TV pages, and also have starting updating the FM stations -- there have been some additions, call changes, etc., in the past year that need to be added.  You may see some "work in progress" as the FM stations page is expanded.

August 4, 2009 --  The TV digital transition has come and gone, and the TV pages have not kept up with the changes.  It has been a busy first-half of 2009 for me, and my webmaster duties temporarily had to take a back seat.  Some have commented I should not make mention of things that have kept me busy if they are not directly related to Foundation, and in retrospect I must agree those issues probably do not belong on the "front page".  So, I will keep that kind of thing here in the "progress" page from now on.  I finally have a little more time to devote to the Foundation, and will once more work on getting the TV pages in order.

January 2, 2009 -- As the digital TV deadline approaches, it is time to try to get the digital info on a little faster.  The FCC data will give me the basics, but I need help from stations and/or viewers that can tell me what is being done with the digital channels.  For example, KTVB in Boise has 7.1 and 7.2.  So far KBCI only has 2.1, and so on.  Any help would be appreciated.

October 8, 2008 -- The addition of digitial infomation to the TV pages has begun.  While I made the comment on the page that I hope to be done by February 2009, that was more of an inside reference to the date full-power analog stations  have to shut down.  I really expect to have the digital information posted much sooner.

March 4, 2008 -- I wish I could have been at the February 29 meeting, but due to a death in the family, I was out of town.  Thanks to Art and Frank and others for putting on a great meeting and providing me with the notes and pictures so I could post the meeting from my laptop.  I will be catching up on some more of the site after this week.  I will be on the road until Friday, March 7.

February 20, 2008 -- There were several links that did not open in the correct windows.  All of these I could find have been fixed.  All the websites I can locate for the various stations have been linked.  If a station does not have a working website link, it means I could not find a website for that station.  If you know of any links I missed, let me know.

February 17, 2008 --  I am pronouncing the main remodelling project complete. As stated today on the main page:  UPDATE:  The major re-model of the site is done.  Now we need to fill it up.  Think of this site as a new museum building -- we've completed the building (though we did leave provision for a future addition which will be digitial TV), and now we need to fill the rooms.  As you wander thru the site, many rooms (links) are still empty.  Please, if you have anything to offer that would be of historical interest, pass it along.  Thanks.

And, thanks for your patience as we have built the site.  I am now going over all the bits of information I have recieved so far, and trying to assign them all to the proper "rooms" in our virtual museum.  Additonally, I am trying to make sure any stations with websites are properly linked, and whenever possible, indicate current formats.    Please, if you work for a station in Idaho, check your page, and let me know if the data is out of date.  If it is, we will move the old data into the appropriate page for historical retention, and update the "current" page.

February 16, 2008  --  The TV page is now complete.  From this point on most efforts will be focused on adding content to the individual stations in all catagories and improving the looks of some of the pages.

February 11, 2008  --  The AM page is completed, including the "Frequency" links.  More content will be added to the individual stations as soon as possible.

February 9, 2008  --  Four weeks in.   All of the AM and FM stations have their basic pages built and are on line with their current information.   I am now working on the TV page and also need to complete the "Frequency" portion of the AM page.  Some additional historical content has been added to some of the pages.  Please, if you work for any station in Idaho and find outdated or incorrect information on your station's page, let me know.

February 2, 2008 -- The "new" site has been under construction now for exactly 3 weeks.  Progress feels slow, but so far there have been over 140 pages created, over 600 links made, and uncounted visits to the FCC sites to validate information.  The "skeleton" of the site is, as I see it, about 2/3 completed.  Some actual historic content has been added as well -- that will be the really big job once the skeleton is complete.   I have made it my goal to add at least something everyday, and most days, I get a dozen or more pages made or linked within the site.  However, at this rate, it may be summer before I feel the site is truly functional.  Your patience with this project is appreciated.

January 28 -- The AM stations basic pages are complete.  Not all the frequency pages are done, but every AM station now has its basic listing.

January 12, 2008 -- I took on the task of Webmaster for this site, and began putting the basic structure of the site as we see it now on-line.  The actual site had been on-line for about a year, and had the basic lists constructed for all the Idaho stations.  The rest existed only in concept.
